SIZZLE REEL

 

Ryan Verbel, is an American director of photography, currently living in Los Angeles, California. His work has been screened around the world in film festivals in Los Angeles, Rome, Toronto, Chicago, and New York City.

Born and raised in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Ryan attended Temple University’s School of Communications and Theater. There he majored in Film and Media Arts with a concentration in Cinematography. Verbel was trained and shot primarily on film during his tenure at Temple, being mentored by Paul Sylbert (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Kramer vs. Kramer, Heaven Can Wait) and David Parry (Premature, Yukon Journal, Nosey Parker). Upon graduation, Ryan relocated to Los Angeles, California. 

In July of 2011, Verbel photographed his first film in Los Angeles Little Lies. Since then he has photographed numerous feature films, shorts, web series, and music videos. In June 2014, he completed principle photography of his first feature film Good Grief starring Eric Michael Cole (White Squall), Rachel True (The Craft, Half Baked), and Jordan Ladd (Cabin Fever, Death Proof). To date, Verbel has photographed five feature films. His most recent, Sick for Toys, is actor David Del Rio’s (The Troop, Pitch Perfect, Grease Live, The Belko Experiment) directorial debut. Photographed in Nocona, Texas, Sick for Toys was written by Justin Xavier and James Andrew Oster (joblo.com) and stars Jon Paul Burkhart (Jersey Boys, Mr. Brooks, American Horror Stories) and Paul T. Taylor (Hellraiser: Judgement).
